Hey there,

Do you guys already have the timing info you'll need for implementing R800 support? And if you don't, would you like to have it in clock cycles per instruction or in uSec's per insctruction?

Aight...

Keep it up Wink

Hi,

I don't have the timing info yet. If someone have the timing info for Z80 I'd be very happy to get that as well. I think that the problems with some PSG samples playing at a too high pitch is caused by invalid timing in some Z80 instructions.

I think I'd like to have it in clock cycles per instruction. As I understand you can clock the cpu at different frequencies but the clock cycles per instruction does not change (it would if the timing were in us/instruction).

Aight... Lemme see what I can do then... I'll see if I can compile maybe an Excel sheet with most of the data. It'll prolly take a couple of day though, so you're fore-warned... Lemme know where to send it.

I'm including Z80 speed too. This way you can write one single CPU core using two timing-tables. I'm once again noticing the awesome speed of the R800 though... I hope you can write a core that's fast enough. With some instructions it's more than 20 times as fast as a normal Z80. On average I'd say it's at least 7 to 8 times as fast. Unfortunately, I don't have any info on refresh timing yet. Lemme see what I can figure out.

Hey there,

I've sent you some preliminary data on R800 timing. Let me know if you get it. If you really want to give Turbo-R emulation a go I'll also see what I can find on the S1990 (which will be nothing, probably) plus at least the info on the timers and the PCM. The last two should not be too hard to implement. Anyways... Good luck...

I got the timing tables and they look really great Very Happy These will be very useful when I start with the R800 emulation. When I do that I will also make sure that the Z80 timing is correct.

Many thanks Very Happy
