Hello!

Please be understanding as this is my first post but I am sooohh curious about the 'Trainer' option in blueMSX that I felt like I needed to post something.

I am currently using blueMSX 2.8.2 and I am trying to get to grips with the Trainer and its uses. I fully understand and appreciate the use of it but I am struggling to get anywhere on one particular game.

What I am basically hoping for is some help (or even the cheat/addresses themselves) for Quarth by Konami. I have done some basic searching on here and on Google and got nowhere fast.

Can anyone offer advice or addresses for Quarth?? I would love to affect the SCORE basically.

My current issue is trying to find the SCORE address. I am presuming (having used similar cheat engines with other emus) that because I can't find the SCORE value using Decimal that the score is registered under one address. *shrugs* But of course I don't actually know this.

So far I have searched for 8bit/16bit addresses and all to no avail...

I appreciate I am a noob in both blueMSX and Forum posts but I would love to know about Quarth as its driving me up to wall! Embarassed

Appreciate all help/advice/criticism! Smile Very Happy

format of the score = AABBCC

AA = poke 0xc7b0 0x99
BB = poke 0xc7b1 0x99
CC = poke 0xc7b2 0x99

Have fun Smile

Massive thanks for that!

I am so happy! Just out of interest, as I have only played Quarth in depth on the Game Boy, but is there a high score table that records both LEVEL/SCORE on Quarth MSX, or is it just simply SCORE??

You refer to the term 'poke' is that a command for use in the Trainer function of BlueMSX or is it a BASIC command for use before the game loads?

Once again, many thanks! Very Happy Very Happy

Vampier has answered you with the hexadecimal syntax used by the openMSX trainer.

Just enter the values in the blueMSX trainer and save the .mcf file.

From the blueMSX approach, the word "poke" leads to confusion as it is indeed used in MSX-BASIC, especially to change some values of the game itself before the loading, but it is very different from the perpetual changes (constantly repeated with a very little interval) made by the trainer in the memory !

oops sorry Smile I'm so used to people knowing what I meant that I've become arrogant towards people that don't Smile

Anyway just convert the hex into the decimal values and put them into a blueMSX cheat like Mars2k said above me Wink

I still think the openMSX cheatfinder is more powerfull than the blueMSX one... but no-one likes to work with CLI's/console commands Razz
