|
|
| So I'm trying to translate a Japanese Metal Gear rom using a translation patch. I'm using lunar ips to translate the rom. Now when I run lunar ips i'm able to select the translation patch except it won't detect the rom I need to translate. Any advise? |

I recommend to use IPS.EXE (I use it always and I never got problems with this tool) :
http://www.zophar.net/utilities/patchutil/ipsexe.html
Using in 2 steps :
a) create an exe file that "knows" that the IPS file must be applied on a specific rom
b) execute this exe file
Remark : when the name of the rom is too long, the exe file created by IPSEXE can't find the rom ... but you can indicate the path manually also at the 2nd step. _________________ Benoît

So I created the exe file and opened it. However when I tried to patch the rom it said "ERROR cannot find file to patch" I don't know what to do. |

Use the Browse button (just like in so many applications to open a file).
When the path to the rom (with its very long name) is in the box, then click on Patch.
If you want to avoid such problem, the best is to rename the rom with a very short name (MG.ROM for example) before the 1st step (creation of the exe file). _________________ Benoît
